Great food should nourish and delight. Staying healthy doesn’t have to be a chore. We can learn from other cultures.
We believe that other cultures eat more fruits and veggies because they combine fresh ingredients to create symphonies of flavor. We all know that fresh produce is good for us. But to make it a larger part of our diet, it must delight us.
In Mexico, fresh salsa is enjoyed everywhere for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Spain is famous for its gazpacho, a cold vegetable soup. Italy, home to the slow food movement, is legendary for its use of fresh produce. India has its chutneys. China gave the world stir-fry. The list could go on and on.
The common denominator is that all of these dishes taste fantastic. Most are quick and easy to make. And, yes, they’re good for us too.
